The decision made by the state to pull the $736,938 was based on the city missing a passing score on an evaluation of the program by a single point.  This has cause a lot of bureaucratic changes withing the city.

State officials are disappointing in the way that the taxpayers money is being spent.  They believe they can find a more effective may to manage and distribute money that is used to help stop the spread of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).

The Health Commissioner of Cincinnati, Noble Maseru disputed almost everything on the 2011 grant review with little success.

Hamilton County now ranks 12th nationwide in the number of Syphilis cases reported.  Even more startling is when population is taken into account their rank moves up to 3rd in the nation for Syphilis.

Health officials in Hamilton County are scrambling to put together a new and more effective STD education and prevention program that the city can be proud of.
