The Oregon HIV/STD hotline is a research for people in Oregon searching for help with HIV testing and STD testing.  There is a live chat available, statewide training calendar for providers, tips and advice for those living with HIV, and a brand new look for the website.  You can go to their website and donate or look for opportunities for volunteer work as well. Citizens of Oregon have another great resource in the fight against HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.

Ohio Takes Away STD grant, City Wastes Money

The city of Cincinnati has had a sexually transmitted diseases grant taken away from the city.  The city has received this grant annually for the past 30 years.  Ohio health officials say the city has done a terrible job on both prevention and administration.

What Does This Mean for Cincinatti?

 What this means for STD testing in Cincinnati is the program will still run its sexually transmitted disease teatment clinic in Corryville.  Hamilton County health worlds will do all the follow-up work which involves reporting of statistics and educating people about protecting their sexual health.

The decision made by the state to pull the $736,938 was based on the city missing a passing score on an evaluation of the program by a single point.  This has cause a lot of bureaucratic changes withing the city.

State officials are disappointing in the way that the taxpayers money is being spent.  They believe they can find a more effective may to manage and distribute money that is used to help stop the spread of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).
