Free STD Testing in New York City Being Cut
Unless you are showing obvious signs of having a sexually transmitted disease, do not expect to find free STD testing for all major STDs and HIV at your local NYC Department of Health clinic.During the month of March the NYC Department of Health under the radar cut services to 10 of their sites across the five boroughs of New York City. Budget cuts and a tough economy have forced the cutting of funds. These clinics including the Bronx site on 1309 Fulton Ave no longer offer free STD testing for the most common STDs: gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis.
