Yes you can use insurance for STD testing but there are many drawbacks and problems that may become apparent.

Preventative testing for sexually transmitted diseases is not covered by most insurance companys.  Only when symptoms are apparent will they even consider covering a STD test.  Signs and symptoms of STDs are asymptomatic meaning you may not show any symptoms but still carry a STD virus.
